Glencoe Thor IRBM

Steve

New on the Bench
I started this the other day; it's the Glencoe reissue of the Adams 1958 1/87th Thor IRBM. It's a surprisingly a nice kit considering the age of the molds. The fit has been pretty much flawless, and it has reasonable detail. Well done to Glencoe. The railing on the launch platform is a bit clunky in regard to its thickness, but who cares? this little project has been instrumental in repairing my damaged calm. Thanks for looking.

Love it... Glencoe does have some nice kits that need just a little patience to build...
They do now and again and then again, they've had some real dogs. Their Jupiter C quickly comes to mind. But the Stromberg space stuff that they acquired were nice kits.

Except the Nuclear Space Station. Nick did the best he could to revive the molds, but it's a dog of a kit. Took a ton of Bondo to get it smooth and round.

Of those, that was the only one I never purchased. I think I had read a build log of one somewhere that said the same thing about the filling and smoothing. That was the problem with the Jupiter C as well.
