Matchbox 1:72 F4U-4 Corsair (PK-14) 1973

So.....I see Dirk is building the same kit and as he prompted me to show my builds I thought I would post this.

Like Dirk, I build these because of the nostalgia.

The boxing is slightly different to Dirks and the text on the inside of the fuselage says 1973.

I've just put the two fuselage halves together and put the pilot in his seat. The main wings are also constructed.

This build will be wheels up, utilizing the awesome Matchbox stand.

Some more progress o this build.

Had a bit of an issue. I wanted to build this kit 'gear up' but if you look at the instructions they don't show how to do this.

The main wheel bay doors were no problem at all. But the arrestor hook and tail wheel needed cutting and sanding to get them to sit i the correct position.
