This is my entry in the ST Anniversary GB. Took pictures sporadically, but I am making some progress. Started by drilling holes for windows and grinding off some ridges hoping to get light through edge windows. Light blocked and white reflective coat applied.
Worked on the nacelles next. Was going to use the spiked Bussard domes, but had a problem trying to apply the red clear paint and it pooled inside. So I'm using the pre-Refit domes. The chiller grilles are lit with a strip of cool white 0805 LED tape. The domes are lit with a 3mm flickering red LED. The chiller grilles were painted with Tamiya Clear Blue, and a light frosting of flat white on the inside surface to diffuse.
My base coat after gray primer was a gloss black, followed by Vallejo Metal Colors Magnesium. Had some issues with the paint, but that's for the wrap up. Applied a gloss clear coat, and then used Aztek Dummy's vinyl masks to create the paneling. Sprayed with Vallejo Metal Colors Aluminum. Debating if I want to use the Aluminum or Dark Aluminum for my blending coat. Need to do some tests to see what I like best. I'm all caught up with where I'm at.
